SKYE VAN SAUN
A poet, writer, editor and teacher, Skye Van Saun holds an MFA from Sarah Lawrence College. She is Director of the Delaware Valley Poetry Festival, Founder of the People's Poetry @ the Rat, was a featured poet at the Geraldine Rockefeller Dodge Poetry Festival and was nominated for a Pushcart Prize for "Hide nor Hair" in the anthology Submerged: Tales from the Basin (2008). Van Saun taught creative writing courses at the New Hope/Solebury Community School. She has worked in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Domestic Violence Unit, taught poetry to inmates at Valhalla Prison and served as guest speaker and featured reader for many groups and events, including the Women's History Conference "Women's Stories, Women's Lives," under the category: "Unspeakable Violence" at Sarah Lawrence College and at the Gun Violence Awareness Conference, Harvard University. In 2018, she was commissioned to write a poem about each building and structure along Race and Bridge Streets in the Victorian village of Frenchtown NJ for an exhibition at ArtYard Gallery in Frenchtown and a book, The Memory Palace.

Besides work on her own writing and as editor for literary clients, Van Saun continues to appear as a featured speaker and reader of poetry and creative nonfiction at various venues and to teach creative writing.

She lives by the Delaware River with her dogs, cats, guitars and a canoe.
